It is with a sense of responsibility, resilience, and optimism that we announce Ibratec’s 2020/2030 Carbon Neutral commitment.
The decade-long journey of commitment to SDGs 13 and 17 begins with the purchase of carbon credits from the Bandeirantes Landfill Gas to Energy Project—one of Brazil’s largest landfill sites.
In addition to the annual emission reduction of 1,070,629 tons of CO2e as methane, a gas 25 times more harmful than CO2 itself, this operation generates electricity, a form of clean energy that benefits 400,000 people.
Through this initiative, over 2.5 billion packages/year of cartonboard, a raw material from renewable sources, have been delivered to Ibratec’s clients since 2020 with their emissions neutralized.
Given the urgency of combating climate change, we choose to be part of the solution and ensure a sustainable future for this and the next generations to come.
